Bulk mushroom compost from Stan's Garden Center is removed from mines in the Reading or Philadelphia areas of Pennsylvania. It is aged and pasteurized to kill unwanted seed or spore activity and is one of the best soil amendments a gardener of any kind can use. Be careful because it does have a nutritional element that could burn plants if used too close or too abundantly. The odor alone will let you know it's high in organic matter.
