Annuals
All of the annual
plants sold at Stan's—from flowering annuals, to hanging
baskets, to the Simply Beautiful TM and
Proven WinnersTM lines — are grown in our 4-acre, Buffalo
Road greenhouse range. What does this mean to you, the gardener?
First, it allows us to display our annuals on raised benches,
in climate-controlled greenhouses — so your shopping experience
is convenient & comfortable. It ensures that our plants are the
freshest & healthiest you'll find. Our size allows us to offer
you the widest selection of varieties, sizes, and colors —
so you can find exactly what you're looking for. And, since we
grow what we sell our staff has a level of expertise you won't
find anywhere else.
Bonsai
Bonsai is the art of training potted trees in a way that creates
the impression of a much larger and older tree shaped by the forces
of nature. There are hundreds of species of trees that can be
used to create bonsai, some with vastly different care requirements.
Mass-produced bonsai are often little more than seedlings hastily
pruned and literally glued into their pots for quick sale. Stan's,
on the other hand, emphasizes easy care varieties like ficus and
Chinese elms, purchased from reputable national companies. We
also offer the supplies and advice to help you enjoy your living
work of art for years to come.
Calling
All Cooks! 
Stan's Garden Center has varieties of culinary herbs available.
These plants can be purchased individually or in baskets which
have herbs formulated for specific dishes (i.e. beef, pork fish,
etc.).
Mary's
Gardens 
Stan's Garden Center now offers information for customers who
are interested in planting a "Mary Garden". This is a garden dedicated
to Mary, the mother of God, which can allow one to have daily
reminders and devotional meditations for the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Displays and lists of the plant selections are available and folklore
and legends.
Tropicals
Stan's carries a veritable jungle of tropical plants — from
miniatures for terrariums and dish gardens to towering floor plants.
Our greenhouses shelter humidity-loving ferns and drought tolerant
cacti & succulents. We also carry a wide spectrum of blooming
indoor plants, both year-round and seasonal — African violets
(including the popular mini-violets), cyclamen, hibiscus, and
our "Home Grown" poinsettias. And, of course we offer soils, pots,
fertilizers, sprays, and advice to keep your jungle healthy.
Vegetables
& Herbs
If your "taste" in gardening runs toward things that taste good,
Stan's is the only name you need to know. Our selection of vegetables*
and herbs runs from Arugula to Zucchini, and most everything in
between. (And for those crops like peas, beans, and root crops
that don't transplant well, our Retail Store offers seeds for
direct sowing). We also make successive plantings of our vegetable
and herb crops — so if youdon't get your garden planted by
Memorial Day (and some years it really pays to wait!) you don't
have to settle for half-dead leftovers.
